T42 or T30?

Should i sell my 42 and use the money to to fix my t30, or visa versa? Which is a better model, and why?

Which way to go depends on the sum required to get either one going to your satisfaction.
The T42 is the more elegant model, with newer specs and (most important) USB2.0.
A T42 can suffer from a loose GPU or Southbridge, which will need professional reballing (in the UK) OR a new motherboard.
A T30 can suffer from bad RAM slots, which quite often (but not always) can be solved by resoldering the RAM connectors.
The T30 is sturdier, but also heavier and bulkier than the T42.
Some parts (RAM and hard disk) are interchangeable between the two.
