Did this result in the acquisition of a QXGA IPS panel? If so at what price?

I am interested in mod-ing a R50p from UXGA to QXGA.

Thank you.

80 dollars?

That's quite less than I would expect.

Hmm, only one auction picture? - I would contact the seller for additional detailed pic's of the panels they are selling (as well as box label pic's to confirm any production/ manufactured dates etc)

I went through like three months of his feedback and found nothing on this particular panel.

At that price, I'd make sure to request shots of the back of the screen, box and all.

A *glossy* QXGA panel with correct markings has recently been received from a taobao seller...no further comment...

Thanks for the responses.

I have found a source for the panels in the UK.

I have bought one and it should arrive today.

The other parts are on order so I'm on track to upgrade an R50p to QXGA.

Thank you for the interest in my project.

The panel has arrived and looks to be the 'real deal'. The labeling is all correct, so I'm hopeful.

The inverter and cable are now on their way from the US, so when they arrive I can get on with the upgrade.

Any chance of some pix of the panel?

Success!!

The panel has been installed and I have an R50p (QXGA) to play with.

The panel has a little light leakage, but once Windows boots up with its light background, nothing amiss is visible.

I shall look out the camera and hope to post some pictures in a few days.

I am sorry that this has taken a while, but I finally have a few photos of the QXGA panel in operation.

When I was working on hi-res panels many years ago, we always talked of the benefits in terms of either Quantity or Quality.

If you follow this link

http://picasaweb.google.com/ivories ... Pads02

you should find two screenshots taken from the R50p-QXGA screen. They are imaginatively called Quantity and Quality.

Please let me know what you think.

If you are interested in getting a QXGA panel there are a few left at my UK source. Please PM me for further details.

Please remember that to do an upgrade, you will also need a QXGA LCD cable and Inverter. These are getting hard to find.
