FS: 4 GB Ram pulled from T410

#1 Post by RRHODY » Tue Feb 12, 2013 9:17 am

Increased the RAM in my T410 and have two (2) 2 GB modules [TOTAL OF 4 GB] to sell. Each is exactly the same:
FRU 55Y3713
Samsung M471B5773CHS-CH9 1050

These modules passed the Lenovo memory test BEFORE being pulled.

Asking a total of $20.00 including mailing to any US ZIP CODE in a USPS Priority mail padded envelope.

Is it the price or is it the description? I thought giving the FRU to show these were ORIGINAL would be enough.

Just my opinion, but I think specs of the ram is a better idea then the FRU. Lenovo often uses many FRU numbers for the same part, probably when they come from different suppliers and such. I'd advise listing the manufacturer as well as the type.

I have some more info I can send you privately too.

Thanks, but the original post had the manufacturer info:
Samsung M471B5773CHS-CH9 1050
Anyway, I appreciate the response.
With no takers, they'll go to recycle.

Samsung RAM like yours (2x2GB) goes for less than $15.- shipped on eBay, guess that's why there was little interest.

Since I'm not a business, setting the price was arbitrary, I didn't consult eBay, just guessed what 4GB RAM might be worth to someone. If I read your message correctly, these two 2GB modules aren't worth the trouble to package them and get them in the mail.

No, again I'm not a business; there's no need to try CraigList because I don't need to "sell" anything. Why bother?

Do you know much about Craigslist? It's not for businesses, but for everyone else. It's just like this Marketplace, except you don't have to mail the stuff you are selling, so it involves even less "bother" than selling here.

Since a decade ago, I have gotten rid of all the things (hundreds of them) that I don't need on Craigslist. It's much easier than eBay or this forum, and Craigslist doesn't charge a single penny.

As a matter of fact, I've used CraigList several times, but the point here is not that I'm not a business but that if the modules aren't even worth $20.00, then it is not worth my time and effort to sell them.
I'm 83 years old and my mantra is "Yesterday's $5.00 is today's $20.00."
I remember when gasoline was $0.10 a gallon, etc.
