T500 (2082.BSG) unexpectedly shuts down during RR

Hello,

I am using a Lenovo T500 laptop (model nbr. in subject line). Lately, I am having the problem described in the subject line when I attempt backup with Lenovo Rescue and Recovery (version 4.30.0025.00); namely, when I start RR the computer shuts down without any warning during the "gathering system settings..." phase. The shutdown is normal because I can restart the computer without problems. After restart, it displays a message "the backup did not complete; the computer may have lost power etc. Etc."; however, the computer did not lose power.

The only other information I can provide is that I looked into the C:\RRbackups directory and the rr.log file, but I couldn't make any sense of what is going on.

Can anyone suggest what is the problem?
