FS/FT: hi-end G41, rare unit in excellent condition

#1 Post by ajkula66 » Sat Mar 09, 2013 3:47 pm

the basics:

ThinkPad G41 (2886-78U)

Image

P4-M 538..........this is a P4 HT 3.2 GHz Prescott CPU...a ThinkPad with HyperThreading was not seen before, or after...

for more info, see here:

http://ark.intel.com/products/27369/Mob ... 33-MHz-FSB

512MB RAM......now 1GB (2x512MB)
80GB 5400rpm HDD...........none, caddy and cover ARE included
15 SXGA+(1400x1050) TFT LCD
128MB nVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200
24x10x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD
IBM 802.11b/g wireless(MPCI)
Modem(CDC)
1Gb Ethernet(LOM)
12 cell Li-Ion battery.............Panasonic, holds an almost full charge
WinXP Pro COA
Original IBM "brick" AC adapter included

This is - by far - the best kept example of G4x series I've ever seen. For a laptop (might be a stretch given this baby's size and weight...LOL) that's going to be eight years old this coming May, it's most likely as good as they come, period. Minimal wear on the lid, and next to none anywhere else. As for the specs, they don't come much more loaded than this.

The only notable imperfection is one stuck pixel (red, so it shows up on certain backgrounds only) in the far lower RH corner of an otherwise very pretty 15" SXGA+ LCD.

While I was happy to take this rare bird back in a trade, I have no real need for it, and would like to see it go to a good home. With 4 USB 2.0 ports, HT-capable CPU and a plethora of other goodies it is a viable desktop replacement, even nowadays.

Asking ON HOLD+ shipping at cost to almost anywhere in the world. Willing to trade for something that I have use for...T60 batteries, DDR2 RAM, certain Core 2 Duo CPUs...if in doubt, just drop me a PM.

Upgrades for DIY-ers:

This machine can be turned into an even more of an unusual beast with very little effort. However, I have no time to play with it, but am willing to include the following upgrades below cost as long as you install them yourself:

a) 15" SXGA+ IPS FlexView LCD, pulled out of a working T60p, good shape - $20 with purchase of the G41 only - $30 if bought by itself.

b) UltraBay Enhanced DVD RW Multiburner, pulled out of a working R60, like new - $15 with purchase of the G41 only, not for sale by itself.

c) Seagate 80GB/7200rpm PATA hard disk drive, no bad sectors or other flaws - $60 with purchase of G41 only, not for sale by itself.

PM or email me directly to tataslonATaol.com with any questions/concerns
