Is there any quad core i5 Processor in T or X thinkpads or only i7 ??

Only i7 quads and only in the T5x0 series, not in the X series.

No such thing as a mobile i5 that is quad core. Quad core i5's are only available in desktops. I wish http://ark.intel.com/ was more well known than it is.

I see you have many T models. I am planning to buy my first Thinkpad and i am think T or X line. Why you choose so many T models. The screen size or some other reason ?

The short story is screen resolution and the touchpad buttons.

My T410 and T410s were deals that came along that were too good to pass up. I was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. I fell in love with the lightweight of the T410s, but loathed over the very short battery life and limited options for the 1.8" hard drive. I then came across a good deal on an x220 Tablet that I used for two weeks. I intended for this x220t to become my daily driver. After using the 1440x900 screens on the T410 and T410s, I could not get used to the 1366x768 screen resolution. I am now an IT Director at a hospital, and the extra screen resolution is a must when using remote support applications.

I had always preferred the TrackPoint since my very first laptop back in 1999, the IBM ThinkPad 390X. In recent years, I now feel pain in the tendon of my index finger with extended use of the TrackPoint, so I began using the touch pads. The x220t does not have separate touchpad buttons. There is one button that is integrated into the bottom-middle of the touchpad surface. If you click this button while your finger is on the bottom-left side of the touchpad, it registers as a left click, if you click while your finger is on the bottom-right side of the surface, it registers as a right click. I like to let my thumb rest on the left touchpad button while steering the cursor with my index finger. Trying to do this on an X-series makes the system nearly unusable. Also, The x220t was a smaller footprint than t410s, thicker than my T410s, and it felt like it weighed more.

So I sold my x220t to a doctor and watched the Lenovo Outlet website every day for a month until a good buy finally popped up for the T420s, which has so far worked out to be my dream computer. The T410 and T410s now sit at home and get little use now. I may end up selling them some day, but I don't mind keeping them around the house for various tasks.

I will not be upgrading to any ThinkPad's with the newer style touchpads (like X1 and X1 Carbon) and I will never own anything 1366x768 (like X220 and X230) ever again. The reflective screen on the X series is not desirable for me either, but not a deal breaker. If I were picking out something new from Lenovo right now, it would be the T430s.

I agree with you about the sreen sesolution but i am planning to connect the X230 home,with one big pc screen that i have and use a pc keyboard that it will be connect also. But because i travel to have a great portability when i need it in a good quality laptop with no problems. The only question for me was if they X line and the T line have any difference in quality ?
I heard many times that T line is a work horse but not so much for it for the X.
I am planning to buy the laptop around October but i want to ask you if you sell your old T models what price are you thinking ? Are they in good quality,can upgrage it to 16 Mb Ram ?My needs are office use so a used laptop in good quality maybe is ok for me.

The T410 series max out at 8GB RAM, which is one of the reasons I chose to upgrade to an x220t and eventually to the T420s. Any of the models that end in in 20 or 30 (x220, T420, x230, T430, etc) will support 16GB RAM.

I ended up building a powerhouse desktop computer for the big screen at home. The x series with or without docking station make a good choice for connecting to a big screen as well.

T410 and T410s like mine sell in the $350-450 range.

For Office and Internet browsing, 4 GB is plenty. 8 for most people is overkill already. 16 if you need to brag about it. Take the money saved and put it in a good SSD.

You are very right my friend but i am not going to buy a new model every 1-2 years and for sure 4-8 gb ram is more than ok now but after 2-3 years maybe i need more. I have a desktop pc for 10 years now and i do everythin i need ,but i need porability because i travel so i am thinking to buy something with great quality to have it for years. 16gb i dont need and maybe i will never need in office work but better to habe and not use thatn to need and dont have. If the money in difference is not so much.
