I'm a long time "watch-user" of this forum, but just today I've found a reason to post.
I Have a Thinkpad T20 (2647-41g), Pentium III 700, 256 MB RAM, HDD 160GB, 3Com combo, Win2000 SP4, and etc.
The problem started in the past year. The fact is that, I turn it on, it boots Windows, show me the desktop and, after some minutes (any time, can be 5 or 20 minutes), the screen goes black, the sound is muted, and I can't recover back my work.
Explaining more: The screen turns in all black, but I can see it "trying" to come back, like a "blinking black". I also can hear a "TIC.... TIC..." in the motherboard, indicating that is something happening with the circuits (or is just the energy).
If I try to run with just the battery, the situation is worst: It turn black the screen and intermittently turns on...
What I tried:
- Run just in Energy (no battery);
- Run in "light mode"(no Battery, no Ultrabay drive, nothing "useless";
- Reset the BIOS, "clean up the energy";
I really don't know what is happening with my Old-good laptop.
Sorry if this isn't the right place to find help, or if this has been fixed before. I'm just mad with this problem.
