I have no DVD drive for my x41, need windows xp (not Linux) and have a xp disk (OEM - works with IBM / lenovo keys
)
Could I install the disk to my 8GB 200X lexar CF on the A31 and use it in the X41? Or is there driver / licence issues?

If your X41 has the correct COA, no problem using that CD.

But, if you talking about installing on the A31, then moving the drive to the X41, I don't think that's going to work. There will certainly be driver issues, and you'll most likely get a Windows Protection blue screen when trying to boot.
You just need to find a USB DVD drive, the cost is much less than the aggravation of trying to use creative installation methods.

BSOD Lol, tried wintoflash, but its sooooooo slow on my laxar 200X CF (IDE adapter) card - 40+MB/s read 6-8MB/s write, anyone else have any hints?

You can move XP drives from machine to machine, which in effect is the same as a motherboard swap.

I just got a USB ide DVD adapter and getting a msata 64gb crucial M4 ssd with a msata to pata adapter (stupid lenovo adding a sata To ata adapter chip >:( ) and will be using windows 7 (or 8 since I have a key for it but it doesn't like my GPU - loads of BSOD!)
