Fedora 18 on T43p - a newbie fan control question

#1 Post by ajkula66 » Sat Mar 09, 2013 7:56 pm

So...my love affair with Mint which has lasted several years started going sour with the loss of Gnome, and investments into Mate/Cinnamon environments...

Just to see where it stands now, downloaded and installed Fedora 18 on my "signature" T43p. Love it to bits, apart from one thing:

The fan is on at all times, to the point of getting annoying after a while. While I've read on different versions of fan controls for Linux, whatever I downloaded wouldn't work for me.

So, I need an "absolute newbie" guide for getting some kind of fan control working on Fedora 18...talk to me like I don't know anything about anything, and we might just get somewhere.

Thanks in advance.
