which blank dvd's to purchase for my W700?

I have a W700 that's a few years old. I found a pack of blank Sony DVD-R, and can't burn with them. I just get errors that the drive is unformatted and/or unavailable. My purchase order says:

SBB DVD REC 8X MAXULTRENHSATA

Any suggestions as to which DVD's will work?

Taiyo Yudens are considered to be best discs, at least they were when I used to burn discs, but you might want to test the drive with Nero SpeedDisc.
