T42: Any way to use a separate number pad WITHOUT num lock?
On a T42, is there any way for me to use a separate number pad (ie: one that plugs into a USB port) without having num lock on? I wish to be able to use the numbers on the separate number pad and still use the U,I,O,J,K,L,M keys on the keyboard at the same time. Thanks.

Thanks, but I actually already have the number pad. I just want to find a way to use it while still using the keys on my keyboard as letters. Is there something special about the particular keypad you are referring to that will allow me to do that?RealBlackStuff wrote:Check eBay for: ibm numeric keypad

In the BIOS go to Keyboard options, and set Numlock to "Independent". That should do it (I think, never tried it).

Loads of USB keypads on Amazon UK, I can't believe the US site doesn't have them.
