Amazon rant

#1 Post by thatgothbehindyou » Tue Mar 12, 2013 10:09 pm

Even though you guys don't know me, since we are allowed to talk about "whatEVER", I need to vent cause this is ticking me off.

So I signed up with Amazon again early this morning, after having left them last year because of various issues. Sign up went fine, I clicked to order, entered my credit card information and placed the order. I got an email confirmation. Everything seemed fine, until I went back to log in to my account, and I was locked out.

Saying,
There was a problem with your request

There was an error with your E-Mail/Password combination. Please try again.
So I thought ok, that's weird, I did a password reset, twice, still the same thing. So after a call to Amazon, I finally got a call back from their investigator, who said there was a problem with the address verification on my credit card. Really? I've only been using it over two years at MANY other places, frequently, and I NEVER have any problems with it.
Well after some back and forth and was close to having him close my account, I decided to give them another try, and he re-enabled my account. But now I have to order it again, and enter my credit card information again. Ok. So tonight after I got home, I placed an order for something else, once again enter my credit card information, everything goes through and get a confirmation email. Only to sign in to my account, same thing, locked out again!

So now I'm sitting on hold with Amazon and waiting for a supervisor to get on the phone, because I will have them close my account. This ticks me off to no end and is not a great start to a new relationship with Amazon, and I'm freaking washing my hands of them for good.

The only thing I can think is, because I changed my name in october and have since switched to a new email address, and because my credit card number and physical address is exactly the same as before, perhaps something is getting flagged in their system as a result. But this is freaking ridiculous.

Sorry for the rant and thanks for listening, I just needed to get that off my chest.

there are more than a few online vendors and so forth i would love to cancel BUT it usually only will hurt me because they offer something i can't really get elsewhere..

online vendors who take credit cards are pretty vulnerable to fraud so they watch for tine things that could indicate a fradulent transaction..

i suggest that you not get angry, just speak patiently with them and find out what the glitch is and then fix it..

Nah that's ok. I already did explain it to them, a few different times. They have no idea. It's been passed on to another investigator who will get back to me tomorrow. I'll just have them close the account, it's not worth the hassle.

For Christmas I ordered a PC game from a vendor based in England. Never would I have ordered from such a distance. Their store profile did not mention where they were based, and even had 'US' in the store name. I month goes by and I finally get my package.

and now amazon is starting to add sales tax to purchases..

of course, this is just one more profit center for amazon since all companies that collect and remit sales tax are allowed to retain a percentage of all tax collected to compensate for the work involved..
and amazon has the existing talent and infrastructure to do this with little to no cost..

so jeff bezos can buy a newspaper or two and continue the leftist propaganda most media outfits now indulge in..

the balance of my thoughts on this are censored due to the foul language involved..

I've never had a problem with Amazon.

Now paypal? That's an entirely different situation. No words in the english language can fully express the pure hatred and loathing I hold for that organization.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

Thanks, but that was six months ago. I just use a different CC to order, and I have no problems.

Where at one time we, as consumers, could at least count on Corporate America to fight taxation on our behalf, Bezos read the tea leaves, and realized he had nothing to lose by laying down for the likes of Jerry Brown and other leftwing spendthrifts, as he will be handsomely rewarded with tax-payment-processing contracts from governments, as well as a cut from every single penny collected from the small businesses selling on his service.
