T42 black screen

T42 black screen ,sometimes works intermittingly. Works OK with external display. If you use a flashlight on the display You can see what is on the screen?No pink on display.I was thinking maybe the led light.

Yeah, i think you're on the right track. Most likely it is the lamp that's failing, or has failed. BTW, it's a very slim fluorescent tube, know as a CCFL, as the T42 wasn't offered with an LED lit display.
