IBM Rescue and Recovery and Truecrypt. Which is first?

Hello all.

I have a computer that I want to create an RnR backup AND encrypt the whole volume of the hard drive.

So should I create a backup first then encrypt the hard drive, or should I encrypt the hard drive then create a backup.

And with that in mind, should I create the backup after the OS has fully loaded, or should I do it via the access ibm button on startup?
