I added an MC8775 WWAN, one with a Lenovo FRU#, I flashed a Zender bios so there's no errors during boot, the WWAN indicator lights up while booting, but as soon as Win7 starts, the indicator goes out and the card isn't available for me to use in any way...
I've been reading ALOT and trying a LOT of different stuff, but can't seem to figure out how to make this work ??
I've got the Access Manager software installed, the Lenovo drivers for the card, but the indicator won't come on, pushing FN+F5 only switches my Bluetooth on and off...
Is there a guide anywhere that tells me how to add the Lenovo branded MC8775 ??? I'm about to pull my hair out. I've messed around with WWAN's before, and I get they're a REAL PITA*(why, is beyond me though...), but this is getting ridiculous, I can't even get the card to turn on !!!

I'm going to leave this post and my own reply with my own solutions so if anyone is searching like me, they find this...
So, even though the WWAN I bought was a certified Lenovo product complete with compatible FRU right on the id label of the device, I STILL had to tape PIN20 for it to stay powered on while Win7 booted.
As soon as I taped PIN20, it was detected after boot and the rest of the drivers installed properly...
Sorry if everyone else knows this, I searched and read quite a bit and was under the distinct impression that if the MC8775 I had was a proper Lenovo version, and not a generic one, that it should work without PIN20 being taped, but it MUST be taped in order to work...

The reason you had to tape Pin-20 is because the MC8775 is not compatible with the X60 -- the compatible card would have been an MC8755.gn2 wrote:... even though the WWAN I bought was a certified Lenovo product complete with compatible FRU ... I STILL had to tape PIN20
