A problem on returning the maching...

#1 Post by cchsiao » Wed May 04, 2005 10:18 pm

I tried to return a new (but open) thinkpad back to IBM last week. A IBM's representative arranged UPS to pick up the machine and have the address and RMA # on the sticker. The machine was supposed to return to IBM today, but when I checked the status, it said "Returned to Shipper". What's wrong with that?

It will take another one week to ship the Thinkpad back to my place. I am wondering if I can still return the machine since it will be close to the 30-day free return period.

Did anybody have the same experience before?

Normally this only occurs if they find something wrong with the machine on receipt.

I would definitely give them a call and ask what's up.

don't worry, this is normal. Return to shipper means the laptop is being sent back to original shipper (IBM).

That means IBM received your laptop, you should have your money back soon.
