Screen problem on t400s and t410s

The famous screen problem on the t400s and t410s of a wide vertical line down the left side (Lenovo DocID=HT001564). I could never find a definitive answer as to whether changing the screen will solve this problem or there is something out of sorts on the motherboard. I would like to have clarity before venturing down an expensive and potential frustrating path. Anybody know?

it is a problem with the LCD, replacing it will help.

Good ole MIGR-76367. Replacing the screen fixed mine. There is a new FRU for a Samsung panel that supposedly doesn't suffer from the same problem.
