How many HD space you got for 2373GVU?

#1 Post by Kingwulf » Wed May 04, 2005 10:20 pm

Hi,

I just got 2373GVU T42P and I realized that the HD is only 30 GB =(

I saw the model number is the one for 60GB 7200 rpm.

I know IBM reserver some space for the Recovery software but does it take about the half of the HD?

I tried to use the Recovery to reset to the manufacturer setting.
The software suppose to wiped out the OS partition and re-install it right?
Will it add additional recovery partition?

Pull the HD and check it's model number, should be a 7K60.

If it's not a 60GB (sounds like it's actually a 40GB) give IBM a call and tell them they owe you a new HD!

Make sure they send you recovery CDs with the new HD also.

It seems like the rapid restore add soe backup files as different partition to the HD.

After I do re-install I got back the 51GB (minus the partition for recovery).

Weird
Thanks,

Henry
