ERROR 0200: Failure Fixed Disk 7

#1 Post by johnameigh » Tue Mar 26, 2013 5:10 pm

ERROR
0200: Failure Fixed Disk 7

I started getting this error, the PATA HDD is still good. It works in other controllers, other good drives give the same error. I know "0200: Failure Fixed Disk 1" comes up for a missing drive, right? But this error has a 7. I think maybe my bridge chip failed? Right now its running on a SATA Ultrabay adapter. I already had the connector to do a SATA mod. I guess my my T43p got tired of waiting for me to mod it. Has any one seen the "7" error before?

Yes, many of us have seen that one, unfortunately.

Loose SouthBridge chip...use it while you can, any way you deem fit, but start shopping for a replacement mobo or a new laptop altogether.

Good luck.
