I posted an interesting (in my opinion at least) comparison of conventional CCFL Hydis AFFS LCD vs. the new LED one here:

Very interesting mod! This makes a T61 FrankenPad even more ultimate
Is this mod also possible on a QXGA display?
I'm also interested in this mod, too bad it is currently not available..

These displays are not modded, they are LED-lit from the factory.Backslashnl1 wrote:Is this mod also possible on a QXGA display?
I'm fairly certain that one could mod pretty much any CCFL panel to accept a LED backlight, but I've never seriously looked into that scenario, since it sounds like a major PITA...

Re: For those still running FlexViews on their T6x units...
Yesterday I received my LED mod (originally modded by RealBlackStuff, but sold by another forum member who had it as a spare) and I am very pleased with it.
The brightness is enormous! At this time in the twilight I use brightness level 3 (out of 15) which is sufficient
Yesterday at 11 pm level 0 was even good.
I also like the colors better on this display. Now I enjoy even more of my photos from my digital SLR
I modified the color settings into this:

Basically I just lowered the brightness in the software. At level 0 it was too bright in my opinion.
I'm back in love again with my FrankenPad
