T42p please help can't reconditioning new battery 7800

#1 Post by merlino » Tue Apr 09, 2013 2:15 am

I've bought a new 7800 battery (Sanyo).
Because I was in hurry I've not made the deep discharge and charge cicle at first.
I know it was wrong.
How I can restore the full capacity.

The battery Maximiser software is 3.8Version. I can't found any button about refresh or reconditioning the battery, against the info in the help file.
Actually in battery info it appears:
Full charge capacity 49,61 Wh against design capacity 71,28 Wh.
Battery cycle yellow, Cycle count 14

I've tried to install the T43p software (Lenovo 1.65) but it doesn't work.

How can I restore the full capacity of the battery ?

Is There a better version of the power managment software that works on my T42p?
The model is:
T42p model 2373-02G
bios version 3.23 2007/06/18,
System board VJ0E3655R4A

you can eventually force the recharging directly connect the + and - poles on the battery ( + and - simbols are write on the plastic ) at the correct recharging voltage for more or less 12 hours/ all nightime but : OLY AFTER a total discharging.

( I'm on the way to build an homemade charger for that purpouse)

Or, change battery.
In London you can find a lot of cheaper sellers, that they sells battery on the e- "bay"

Welcome to the forum!

Chances are that you have a generic battery that will keep on losing capacity no matter what you do with it.

Obtaining a genuine battery is the way to go.

My 5-year old Panasonic one still keeps about 90% of the charge after 300+ cycles.

Obviously, YMMV.
