Generally they are extremely fast. Most of the time they sent to me via air by DHL/Airborne. Usually 2 business day wait.

In my case, I called Tech Sup, on Monday, and have not seen the drive yet .... BTW, between these two T42, which on is better: 2373-9XU and 2379-DXU. Expert advice please??? Thanks

I've never waited more than two days for a replacement HD from IBM.

I have often received them the next business day, but I live fairly close to the east coast parts warehouse in Mechanicsburg, PA.

I just can't help but picture a bunch of IBM and Lenovo execs in a conference room arguing over who has to pay for it...

Well I called late in the afternoon and had one in my hands the following morning. I sure hope this isn't a sign of what we can expect by way of support from Lenovo.

My policy is generally - if you're not going for the UXGA option, go with the 14" - it's got big advantages in size, weight, and battery life. Save the 7200rpm drive, the 9xu has the spec advantage with faster processor and a/b/g as well.
