T43p inverter indicator LED failure

#1 Post by unimorpheus » Tue Apr 09, 2013 4:23 pm

I have a T43p with multiple dead LED indicators on the inverter board. After removing the LCD screen to troubleshoot dust and dirt between the LCD and CCFL I noticed I had lost all of the inverter mounded LED indicators with the exception of the WIFI LED. In an effort to figure out what when wrong I have found different post that reference replacing the LCD cable, replacing a motherboard fuse (which fuse :?:) or replacing the inverter board. I have replaced the inverter and the new board did not solve the problem. I believe the fuse explanation is probably correct but with so many fuses distributed across the board locating the open one could be a problem. I have not gone at the board with a DMM but this will probably be my next step. I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen and resolved this problem on a T43p. Thanks.

Never had the issue myself, but have read of others on the forum who have. I think you are on the right track by getting the DMM out and checking fuses. The ones you should check first are clustered around the LCD ribbon cable connector. Download the fuse location pdf here if you haven't already.
