Thinkpad T22 / CPU speed too slow in XP PRO property window
Hi,
I have got a Thinkpad T22 (type: 2648-4EG).
It has 256 MB and the OS is Windows XP PRO.
This machine should have a speed of PIII 900MHZ
but when I right click on the MY COMPUTER icon on my desktop
the SYSTEM PROPERTY shows a CPU speed of only 696 MHZ. This drops when using applications.
When starting up my Thinkpad the BIOS screen does recognise the CPU as a 900MHZ one.
Is this normal ?
Many thanks,

Yes, this is normal. Windows often reports the wrong CPU speed.cyberfilmmaker wrote: Is this normal ?
Use a third party utility like this one to get more accurate CPU speed reading:

Also, if you have speedstep engaged, the CPU might throttle down to 700MHz or something like that. I'm not sure what the step down is for the 900MHz CPU. For the 800MHz one, it steps down to 650MHz.
