T60 Won't Shutdown :((((

hello guys, i would like to ask if what can i do to fix this T60 that i have since if i shut it down it restarts in about 2 seconds.


i re installed the operating system because i thought that it is a software problem but after re-installing it it won't shutdown.

Turn off "Automatically Restart".
Then you will probably see the error message which is occurring as part of the Blue Screen Of Death which is occurring during the Shutdown.
Then you will need to do some research to determine why the error is occurring.

I recently worked on a T60p with the same problem. Tried everything to remedy the problem but with no luck. After extensive searching on this site and others, it turns out it seems to be a system board fault that cannot be repaired (at least I was never able to find anyone that had). The only fix is to replace the system board.

I agree, it sounds like you need a new system board, but just to be sure try removing the battery and AC power and press the power button ten times holding a few seconds each, then 30 seconds on the last. Now start it without battery and see if it will shut down normally. If not, you'll likely need a system board, however the good news is you can get one very cheap here in the forum either from myself, or sellers like ajkula66 or realblackstuff. T60 series boards generally run in the $40-90 price range depending on the graphic system.
