R51 - power management

#1 Post by wkw » Sat Apr 20, 2013 1:24 pm

Hello.

I'm trying to install windows on my R51 on another drive. It is a bit hit and miss getting the drivers, but now I'm only missing one; the power management one.

I have tried every driver listed here http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... migr-55029
But none have the power management ones that enable sleep and hibernation.

Can anyone help with this? I need to get an image so that I won't have to rebuild it from scratch again..

Thanks

Did you check your BIOS/Config/Power settings that the stuff is ENabled?

You need a proper graphics driver in order to enable sleep....

Indeed.

I have one drive with a working install, but I'm trying to build a new one.

With no bios settings changed, the working install works, but anything I do on the new one does not.
On the working one, it seems there is "Thinkpad Power Management v 1.43". I have downloaded that via google, installed it on the new drive, but it does not work.

-------

What is the graphics driver? All lenovo lists is a monitor file, which I can't figure out how to install.

Video driver is the graphics driver, monitor file is a completely different matter.

Thanks for the help all.

I've come into another issue. No matter what I instal, I'm unable to use the fn key to turn off the wireless radio.

If it is installed and the radio works, the power management app says the thinkpad wireless driver needs updated. If the radio driver is not installed, it says to instal the driver..

Any ideas?
