T410 802.11 wireless shutting off

#1 Post by Weogo » Mon Apr 22, 2013 12:14 pm

Hi Y'all,

I have a T410, Win-7Pro-64 and the wireless works fine.
When I leave the computer sitting a while, sometimes the 802.11 wireless shuts off, sometimes it doesn't.
Fn/F5 and I can always turn it back on.
I have checked all timers and haven't found an obvious setting that would be turning the wireless off.
I have set the computer to 'presentation mode', with all timers off, and it can still happen.
Wireless is Intel 6300.
Any suggestions?

Thanks and good health, Weogo

Sorry if this is too obvious, but have you checked the adapter properties, power management tab and unchecked 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' ?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply!

To clarify my original post:
I do want the wireless to be shut off when the computer isn't used for a period of time.

When my X200S starts back after sitting a while, or over-night, the wireless is automatically restarted.
On the T410, it doesn't always automatically restart; sometimes it takes Fn/F5 and hitting ON.
How do I get the T410 to auto restart the wireless power?

Thanks and good health, Weogo
