Fingerprint software T400 windows 7

#1 Post by MikeCL » Tue Apr 23, 2013 5:29 pm

I installed the software and enrolled 3 of my fingers, so I have it to do a fringprint scan in order to log in which works, but each time I do that the fringerprint software pops up again as if I launched it and this is from a fresh reboot.

I'm not sure why this keeps happening.

I ended up just going to msconfig and stopping it from running at startup.

I would advise against using the FPR.
If the hardware goes bad, you will be stuck!
Most people that I know (including me), disable the FPR.

Agreed.

FPR provides a false sense of security while only protecting one from a casual snooper...

Anyone with real interest in data that you're trying to protect will find his/hers way around it in no time.

Encryption, passphrases - yes. FPR - no.
