New x230s ?

#1 Post by jayton4 » Fri May 03, 2013 6:24 am

I saw in Windows Update that the Thinkpad monitor inf file for my T420s had been updated. I took a look at the support.lenovo.com to read the release notes for this update, and in the "What's New" section it says that it now supports the x230s! This is a model that I had not heard of yet. If you search for it on support.lenovo.com, it references a 20A3 model and a 20AH model.

I have kept an eye out for a x201s for sale for sometime, and haven't found one that wasn't an outrageous price. Then a x220s was never produced.

Maybe this new x230s will have decent screen resolution and be the PC I have been looking for all these years! I will be not be happy if it is only offered in 1366x768.

Has anyone seen the x230s out in the wild yet?

X230s is not announced yet (but soon). It is basically a smaller version of the ThinkPad T431s without the dockingport (=and Ultrabook-version of the X230).

Here is a picture of the X230s in various positions:

I don´t think it will come with 1600x900, maybe you should wait until Haswell for the higher resolution. I think somewhere in the user guide the resolution is noted with 1366x768.
