Hi ThinkPad community!
My ThinkPad T60 randomly turns itself off for no appearent reason.
It doesn't shut down - the screen just goes black and next thing you know it's off.
I just press the power button and it's back up.
I don't know what is causing this.
2007-5TU
Windows 7 Home 32bit
2GB RAM
Latest Bios and Updates
Tried different HDD, Battery and clean Installation
Temps are also all good.
Appreciate any help <3

Re: T60 randomly turns off
problem solved - it was a bad heatsink - one of the screw holders was loose causing the CPU die to only be in half contact with the heatsink.
On idle temps would be normal but after only 5 minutes of 1080p I found myself in the 90s.
And TP FanControl updated temps to slow - I just found this out using Core temp.
Well....problem solved

Re: T60 randomly turns off
That would have been the first place I looked, but you said temps were good so it seemed like you might have a thermal defect somewhere else, however your description did sound like typical thermal shutdown.
Glad it's resolved.
