R61 15.4" screen resolution comparison image

#1 Post by glossywhite » Sun May 12, 2013 6:24 pm

Hi there all :)

I just knocked up a nice simple graphic, for those wishing to consider upgrading their R61 screen panel, and needing to compare resolutions, as I couldn't envisage the difference in my mind, I made this in "GIMP" - I hope you find it useful (and less messy than Wikipedia's image):

I am considering upgrading my panel, but am unsure as to whether 1920x1200 is a little too high; can someone with this panel/someone who has seen one, comment?

Thank you so much :)

Matt

I would say it's too high. The pixel density of a 1920x1200 monitor is 147. Comparatively, 14" SXGA+ or 15.4" is 125, which means text will be very small. If you've never seen one, I'd suggest doing so if possible before spending your cash. Another factor is the WSXGA+ LCDs, particularly the LG, are considered to be better quality wise than the WUXGA options. Plus, they're brighter too.

Ah okay - thank you ZaZ, I think I may have to get the WSXGA+ then :)

Take care, God bless you! :)
