Sleep problem

#1 Post by biged143 » Wed May 22, 2013 8:20 am

For years my T61 has always gone to sleep after awhile if unused. Now it no longer sleeps but shuts down after awhile. When I hit the power button I get a choice screen to start in safe or regular. I select regular and it does a reboot complete with fingerprint to access. This is a royal PITA as it takes awhile. No settings have been changed by me. Anyone have a clue?? Thanks in advance!!

Do you have Lenovo Power Manager installed and which OS are you using?

Please post your seven character type number.
While we wait for that bit of info, I'm going to just throw this out there as a possibility...if your T61 has nvidia graphics, this may well be yet another manifestation of the infamous defective GPU chip.
