T500 wireless upgrade?

#1 Post by emeraldgirl08 » Wed May 22, 2013 11:46 am

Hi all. I currently have an Intel 5100 AGN in my T500. Is there any possibility of switching to a more power efficient series of Intel wireless? IIRC the 6xxx series of Intel wireless are more power efficient. I also might remember hearing something about needing a modded BIOS if installing a more recent Intel wireless card. Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Thanks!

It is a easy one to do, I done this with my T60.
So find the wireless card you want to use, try it in the laptop, if you get a error message at bios boot, remove the card, flash the bios with the patched bios, refit the wireless card and your done, apart from installing drivers.
