x61t models with WWAN

#1 Post by ThemePark » Sat May 25, 2013 11:01 am

I have found out that some, but not all models of the x61 Tablet come with a WWAN card and antenna, but I can't find anything on Lenovo's website about exactly which models they are. I'm thinking of purchasing one, so I was wondering if anyone would have such a list, or at least some model numbers for some Thinkpads with WWAN?

As per HMM:
7762-CTO
7763-CTO
7764-CTO
7767-CTO
7768-CTO
7769-CTO
However, CTO means: Configured To Order and can also apply to the similar machines without WWAN.
When you look at pictures, you should see the WWAN antenna on the top right of the screen,
such as shown on this feeBay X61t: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250975706946
If not there, it has no WWAN option.

Well well, now I've learned what CTO and HMM means and that apparently many of the 3 letter/digit codes at the end of the model number actually have a meaning, plus how to get more results when looking for the tablet on Ebay. Quite educational.

Though I've been looking through the HMM, both versions available, and it seems it is not exhaustive, because I found this tablet that has the model number 7762-A81 and the WWAN antenna on top, but it's not mentioned as having WWAN in the HMM.

The HMM is only a basic manual, not all info is in there, and many parts/machines have gotten new versions that are nowhere to be found in there.
The 7762-B5U is another WWAN machine
