T60 fan error again

hello,

my t60 fan has been acting weird lately in the last month, it made annoying noise. now it's even more serious, the whole t60 is shaking a little bit because of the fan and i get the infamous FAN ERROR. Is there a way to repair the fan on my own (as far as i remember there was a topic about this but couldn't find), or i have to buy a new fan?

You can try opening the machine up, cleaning the fan, and maybe oiling it. There are mixed opinions on how much good it does. While it is quite possible that it will prolong the life of the fan a bit, it is basically just a fan on borrowed time, and eventually you will need to replace it.

thanks and does it matter which kind of fan i buy? I have the 15' ati1300 version T60 2007CTO 2007ZBR. it would be really good to buy the same fan because it worked really good; but i dont know the fru of the fan unfortunately; can someone please help me with this pls?
