Adding additional RAM to an Edge 15

#1 Post by stevedudley » Wed Jun 05, 2013 9:52 pm

I own a Thinkpad Edge 15, 64 bit processor. It came with 2 gb of RAM. I purchased two 4gb cards and installed them as per the Lenovo instructions. I updated my BIOS. Now, my BIOS is reading only 4gb available, or so it says. Why does it not recognize the second card with the additional RAM?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I have several Edge 15 machines and most have 8GB RAM. Yours should work without an issue.

I'd try one memory stick at a time, in different slots, just to ensure that both work and that the BIOS reports 4GB each time. If that works, try both again, perhaps one isn't seated properly.

Good luck and report back the progress/results.
