T510 Touch Screen

#1 Post by richyboypalm » Sun Jun 09, 2013 5:01 am

Hi

I have just picked myself up a T510 and let me say I am very happy with it, I had a T60 what was perfect but I upgraded it as far as I could, then a T400 (what i was not so happy with, screen was to small)

Anyway, I have been looking about for a long time for a touch screen thinkpad and done a search for a upgrade kit, but on the lenovo site they state they do a T510 with touch screen, so the question is, could I upgrade mine and has anyone done this???
HAD- T20, T21, T23, T60(15", T7600, X1400, 3GB, 160GB, DVD-RW, N-WIFI, 3G, FP, BT),

Don't remember the T510 had the touchscreen option, i know the W510 had this option, but the screen looks blurred with the touch layer installed. In addition, the touch functionality in those machines won't very good.
Current ThinkPad: T430u, T430s, X1 Carbon, X1, X230t, X220t, X230, X220, X201t, W520, W701ds, T500, T420 and many more

The touch screen does fit, but it has different hinges, lid, front bezel and panel - not a simple panel swap. Parts are hard to find and expensive
