What LCD resolution do I have 2647-5KU ?

#1 Post by Lovernios » Sun May 08, 2005 1:00 pm

Hi, I just got a T23 2647-5KU which I am very happy with but am confused about the resolution of the lcd screen. According to the IBM support site I should have the 1400x1050 sxga+ lcd screen and yet under display properties I can only choose 800x600 or 1024x768, I have the 12.90.90 S3 drivers installed under XPpro SP2. Do I just have a configuration problem or do I just have a 1024x768 screen?

thanks.

Rob.

Rob,

Obviously you purchased this used, so there might be a bit of skulduggery afoot.

Do the BIOS model and serial numbers agree with those printed on the label on the bottom of the unit?

Have you run the IBM updater program to ensure you have all the latest drivers?

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... OFT-UPDATE

Have you selected the IBM LCD as your primary display?

Let us know.

I've checked and the serial numbers and model number on the bottom plate and in the bios match. I used the IBM auto updater program to get the latest drivers but still no luck. Using Sandra it says my video adapter is an S3 SuperSavage IXC 1014 and the monitor is an IBM Thinkpad 1024x768 TFT LCD panel. I think I will try uninstalling the video and monitor drivers and try reinstalling with an older version and see what happens.

That's what we're attempting to determine.

I have a 2647-5ku and it is definatly 1400x1050. Try running it with just the XP video driver. Mine will run at that resolution with just the windows driver.

Okay, the screen is 1400x1050 as I got it working by removing the S3 drivers and just using the MS drivers and could select 1400x1050 but when ever I install the S3 drivers it reverts to 1024x768 so I'm assuming I'm using the wrong drivers but these are the only ones I can find on IBM's support site and they are version 12.90.90 and say S3 supersavage IXC 1014 (I believe they should say S3 Supersavage IXC 16). Does anyone know where I can get the correct drivers?
