graphic improvement for x201
hi,
i ave a 2.5 year old x201.
the graphic's card performance is very poor. i don't need something on a professional level but would liek to enjoy high quality videos and a little gaming.
any recommendations would be very appreciated!
thanks!

The x201 is still a very capable laptop but a gaming rig it is not. It was never designed for this and cannot be upgraded. Wrong tool for the job.
For any sort of gaming at all you need a machine with a decent video card. How decent and how powerful that is will depend on the type of game and your budget.

Re: graphic improvement for x201
The Intel HD Graphics in the X201 should be able to decode videos by itself (via DXVA2), and even without DXVA2 the Core i5 should be fast enough for this.but would liek to enjoy high quality videos
What program are you using to watch videos? And what OS are you running?
As for gaming, there's not much you can do, unless you get a vidock or similar eGPU solutions.

1080p runs fine on my X61 and X61 tablet.
Re: graphic improvement for x201
Installing a second RAM module to unlock dual-channel should increase graphics performance by nearly 50%.

If you don't need "gaming on the go", but do it home at your desk you can get a "PE4L"/"PE4H" solution with a desktop graphicscard.
But not the most practical one
