Brightness of T42 Notebook screen suddenly lowered! Help!

#1 Post by My_Thinkpad » Fri Jul 05, 2013 10:44 pm

Hello. I was using Moviemaker, when suddenly my screen brightness on my Thinkpad T42 went down a good three notches.

I have looked online, but the only advice says to hit the FN key with the HOME key to increase brightness. What's the "Home" key? If it's the UP-arrow, then I've already tried FN + UP, and all the other arrows, NOTHING works.

I tried the Help and Support console in Windows XP Pro SP3, nothing!

Any help appreciated, thanks.

You can register on a forum and post but you don't know where the Home key on your keyboard is?

Look for it. It's there. And surprisingly or not, it says "Home" on it. :)

French Canadian keyboards show an Arrow-Up-Left instead of Home.
The key under it has the abbreviation Fin on it instead of End.

On an IBM laptop keyboard it's on the top row, second from the right key, plus the key under it .

Then again, anybody with even half a brain should have seen the blue markings on those keys!
