#1 Post by burns334 » Sat Jul 13, 2013 6:55 pm

Help, I've looked for hours on the web and I can't find any free items or instructions that work to remove Smartpcfix from my T60

thanks in advance

These three free tools will fix almost anything :
1. MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
2. SuperAntiSpyware
3. TDSSKiller (from Kaspersky, fixes rootkits)

It's always best to download them from the companies' websites.
Install MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware ... then run their Quickscans.
TDSSKiller is not installed, just run it's .exe ... it runs very quickly.

Thanks Crab, I looked at the registry keys, add and remove programs and could not find anything. Then I did a search for "smart" and I found a folder named smartpcfix and some other smart crap and threw it out. Started up fine without a popup to use pcfixer, then I ran you suggestions and found some adware cookies but no other signs of the smart crap, so I think I am clean now.
