Can not connect to Wi-Fi
Can not connect to Wi-Fi
Hello.
I've got Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530c (3364PG) and installed Windows 7 Pro x64 system + installed all drivers.
And some problems with Wi-Fi.
And i have anoter laptop(x86) wich correctly works with same router(DLINK DIR-300) at the same room =).
When I'm tring to connect router laptop says "Problem with wireless adapter or access point".
I cant get what the problem is ?
Help me, coz this new device have became useless for me without wi-fi internet... xD
P.S.
old laptop has Broadcom BCM4310 USB Controller - Broadcom 802.11b/g WLA
edge laptop has Broadcom 802.11n Wireless Network Adapter
Maybe, i have to configure router before using new device ? but it works fine with old laptop...

Re: Can not connect to Wi-Fi
Something to check is whether the router is 802.11g and the laptop card is set to 802.11n only. Make sure that wifi is enabled, sometimes there is a switch either hardware or function key. You might also confirm that all the internal antenna are attached or swap the wireless card out.

Re: Can not connect to Wi-Fi
thx for reply.
i tried to change all options one-by-one and nothing changes - same error.
intrensing fact.. if boot laptop from openSUSE-liveCD WiFi works without any 'dances'.
then i checked, maybe laptop will work with another routers and ... its TRUE. it works.
Problem with Dir-300 H/W B3. maybe he bricked?!
I tried to renew firmware, and from another manufacturers too. The same F**** result.
Solution is to buy new router.

Re: Can not connect to Wi-Fi
From what you describe my best guess is the card is configured to connect at 802.11n only and your router is either not 802.11n or configured for 802.11g only. You don't need a new router, just enable 802.11g connections for the card in Windows.

Re: Can not connect to Wi-Fi
i did that.
Switch mode from '11b only' to 'mixed' mode.
Nothing helps.

Re: Can not connect to Wi-Fi
Does Windows require that the adapter be disabled then enabled or a reboot before the setting works? Also, try the 54G Auto setting. If the router claims to(falsely) be 802.11n then the card will try to connect at 802.11n.

Re: Can not connect to Wi-Fi
When i change adapter setting nothing happens. No notification or something similar with reboot/enable/disable.. just choose option and press OK. Thats all.
But now, as you advice i switch to '54G' and WiFi doesn't work. Then i switch back to mix mode and reconnect to my network and.... it connected with internet access.
I rebooted system and ... still working. mysticism.
If it'll drop connection or something else i'll buy new router or laptop will go to service. I can not decide =(
- Choose wireless networks from list
Enter Security Key
Confirm
Connecting to
and then 'Windows cant connect to.... '
then i press Troubleshot
and system gives me result "Problem with wireless adapter or access point"
