2nd SSD and WAN

#1 Post by quasar » Mon Jul 29, 2013 7:45 pm

Hi,
I'm planning a x230 build, and want to supplement the primary drive with a 2nd SSD in the mSATA slot.

However, can someone tell me if choosing a 2nd SSD also takes up space for the wireless network options? (ie the basic ThinkPad wireless LAN adapter 1x1 b/g/n or the Intel Centrino Advanced-N). I got the warning that I can only have either a 2nd SSD or a wireless card in the mSATA slot.

Sorry such a basic question!

The either-or situation is with an mSATA SSD or a WWAN card, i.e. a data card that you use with a cellphone network subscription. These two both goes in the WWAN slot, so you can only have one of the two.
You can have an mSATA SSD and a WLAN/WiFi card at the same time no problem.
