WinDVD

#1 Post by zazonz » Tue May 10, 2005 4:29 am

I just got my T42. I wiped out the hard drive to do a fresh install of XP. Anyone know where on IBM's website I can download WinDVD. I tried downloading the update, but it did not see a previous version. Thanks.

(OT) but I can't believe you didn't back up the IBM Tools & Drivers folders where all the essential crap is kept!

Can't recall exactly where it is, but if you search the forum you'll find a download link for WinDVD, but honestly most don't like the software and prefer PowerDVD over it by a long shot. If you or a friend have bought a DVDrom in the last little while it usually comes with this software.

Its not a huge deal. I downloaded the drivers before I wiped it out.. I can use Winodws Media Player. I agree PowerDVD is much better.

Orrrr, you could use an open source solution, like mplayer in Linux...

that uses CSS cracking so it doesnt use up time just cache-ing all that key stuff...

two cents, dropped...i got plenty more where that came from...[/me checks balance, whew :) ]
