Issue with tablet buttons

#1 Post by jc5 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 5:41 am

Hi all,

hope you can help with this, as I'm at a bit of a loss.

My hinge broke, so changed the hinge to a new one from ebay, used the repair manual, works a treat. problem is now the scroll buttons on the tablet side do not work.

Do you think this is a connection problem or a problem with windows?

is there a way of testing these keys? have used a program which tests the keyboard but not the tablet side keys.

Also was thinking of just upgrading to windows 8, in which case these keys dont work anyway. Will this be a long term problem, if left unsolved, if the connection is faulty.

Thanks

james

Could be a drivers issue, loose connection, no connection or a hidden broken wire somewhere. If the other buttons all work except for the scroll button, I highly doubt it's a driver issue. If the all don't work then it's most like a driver issue.

I tried Win 8 on my X61T but got frustrated when I realized there is no driver for the tablet buttons so I reverted back to Win 7. The X61T was released and discontinued long before Win 8 arrived which means that Lenovo may or may not ever release the Win 8 tablet drivers for this machine.
