Do the restore partitions work for any model T6x or are there specific drivers loaded to particular configurations? I'd think not since it doesn't seem efficient but who knows.
Asking because I'm prepping my T60ps for sale with a restore and SSD boot drive.
I did the IPS one fine and all went smoothly but when I went to restore the widescreen one it failed and now only boots to PC Doctor. So now I'm wondering if I just cloned the HD again from the IPS and stuck it in the "broken" widescreen one will it work?

Re: Restore partition same for all T6x?
All T6x machines can all run the same HD and the same OS.
Each T60 HD will work in another T60, and each T61 HD will work in another T61.
BUT not every T60 HD might run in a T61 or v.v., because of differences in the graphics drivers and Intel Chip drivers.
E.g. if you have a T61 14.1" standard, and a T61 15.4" widescreen, they can both use the same HD.
Both machines need the same SATA setting in BIOS (AHCI or Compatibility) if you are cloning one into another.
If you use the same CD/DVD for installation, then you can install in either T60/T61 without problems.

After you load and install the hard drives, check in Device Manager to make sure you have the correct drivers loaded. If not, you can download the correct drivers from Lenovo's site. But within a series, as realblackstuff says, you shouldn't need to do this.
