yep

partially bricked my t400 after bios update (from within windows) before I upgraded to ssd

managed to do crisis bios recovery but took a lot of time and some (modest) skill

I've been doing support for a long time; not for the faint of heart.

A bad bios flash brings out the worst in panic symptoms.

You're not kidding! The worst I've ever done was destroy a fancy video card, decades ago. Had to be returned to the mfr for repair.

Does Lenovo not offer a BIOS recovery service, given the complexity of the recovery process? (Yes, I know the tech geeks on this board can do it in their sleep, but the majority of us shudder at the descriptions I've seen posted here).
