Lenovo x131e Chromebook - Can it run windows?

#1 Post by Jonathan1 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 2:03 pm

I have a Chromebook x131e. It has 4gb of ram and 16gb ssd for the HD.

If I swap in a larger HD, can I install windows on it instead?

I'm asking on behalf of someone who only wants a windows computer. I'd like to get them this hardware without buying a second x131e.

Are there any driver issues for win 7 32 or 64 bit?

Thanks!

I think, it would work. Chromebook is standard laptop except small storage.

Has anyone established if installing windows 8 on the x131e chromebook is a real possibility? The big issues is drivers, but being that it has a windows model you would think it should. Curious if anyone has tried and succeeded?
