W500/W510 compatibility

I am a long time user of my W500, and I absolutely love the 1920x1200 screen on this laptop. I do, however, really need to upgrade to something faster, but I was disappointed to see a lack of high resolution displays on newer Thinkpad W5xx models. Does anyone know if it would be possible to either put a W510 motherboard into the W500 chassis, or put the W500 screen onto the base of a W510? From what I am guessing, if the screen connector is the same on both models, it should work. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, the answer to both of your questions is "no".

Can't move a screen from W500 into W510, or the planar the other way around.
