BSOD after RAM upgrade in T510i

#1 Post by king12345 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 9:35 am

Hi guys,

yesterday I tried to upgrade RAM in T510i of friend of mine. It has i3 + 2G with W7/64b.

I bought this http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configu ... 9S3P1K2/8G without any big research.

Windows returns BSOD saying "irql_not_less_or_equal". I didn't have time to run memtest or upgrade BIOS.

Have you ever seen something like that ?

Thank you

Hi King,

I have a T410i machine that I wanted to take from 4 Gig to 8 Gig and ordered memory from Crucial. I installed the memory and the BIOS saw the memory but I would get a BSOD during the boot up process in Windows 7. I tried one memory stick at a time and I tried just one memory socket at a time and still the same error. I swapped the old memory in and the machine would not even boot. So I took out the CMOS battery and did not connect it back in for a few mins at which point the old memory worked. I sent the memory back and got a refund but I still don't know why the memory from Crucial was not working with Windows 7. I am curious what others might have to say about your issue.

Take care,
John
